Brand Creation

Visual Identity

Role: Creative Art Director

Challenge / Brief

Chez Olivander needed a brand identity that would reflect its artisanal roots, evoke the sensory warmth of freshly baked bread, and infuse a sense of magic inspired by wizarding lore. The visual tone required staying grounded in tradition while feeling enchanting, drawing customers into a bakery that’s more of an experience than a simple stop for treats.

Insight / Strategy

We positioned Chez Olivander at the intersection of sensory tradition and whimsical fantasy. The idea was to transport customers into a world where every loaf is a story, rooted in craftsmanship and a touch of the mystical. The brand identity would rely on esoteric symbolism, delicate textures, and a soft but intriguing color palette to evoke both comfort and curiosity.

Creative Process

  • Curated a moodboard combining rustic bakery aesthetics with subtle occult motifs—think artisan textures, deep but muted colors, arcane symbols.

  • Explored visual references that balanced rustic authenticity (earthy materials, handmade textures) with refined mystique (moon phases, star patterns, stylized flourishes).

  • Refined how these elements could translate into artworks for signage, packaging, or in-store accents, ensuring flexibility while maintaining brand cohesion.

Solution

A brand identity that reads as both warm, artisanal, and subtly magical, merging the comfort of tradition with a dash of fantasy.

Visual elements grounded in bakery imagery—grain motifs, textured backgrounds—layered with esoteric designs (celestial symbols, refined patterns) for a whimsical feel.

A flexible, evocative design language that could be applied across touchpoints, from storefront branding to product packaging and interior elements.

Results / Impact

The identity successfully transformed the bakery’s aesthetic into an immersive, mystical experience, making it feel memorable and distinct.

The visual identity laid the groundwork for future branding applications—signage, packaging, merchandising—that remain cohesive and engaging.
